The new Center combines cutting edge design with thoughtful and innovative family‐centered spaces that foster an extraordinary sense of community between families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Most important, are the feelings of hope and healing that embrace anyone who enters the room.

The creative vision of Interior Designer Cathy Lee of Cathy Lee Style, combined with her love of our cause, was a driving force behind this ambitious project. As mom of Kidz For A Cause founder Nicki Lee, whose groundbreaking, peer‐to‐peer fundraising initiative raised more than half of the project’s total cost, Cathy took on a huge commitment when agreeing to design and create the Family Recreation Center.

The inspiring focal point of the Center, the 18-foot-tall “Tree of Hope” custom sculpture, displays name plates of supporters who donate to our Ronald McDonald House. The tree is both beautiful and functional, as it invites future donors to add their own names to it –providing funds for the house and much needed support and hope for the families.

The Family Recreation Center was completed just before the 2021 holidays and the multi‐purpose spaces which include family gathering areas, computer stations, a gaming wall, reading loft and library, an indoor tree house and children’s play areas, have become family favorites. For parents, the Center provides comfort and relaxation; to teens and ‘tweens, it’s fun and exciting; for the little ones, it’s magic! There is talking, sharing, caring, laughter, and great joy!
